Frequently Asked Questions About Our HVAC Services

  • 1. What types of HVAC systems do you service?

At Andy’s Heating and Cooling, we repair and replace all major heating and cooling systems, including air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, and ductless mini splits. We work with all brands and models, so you can rely on our team to diagnose and repair your system, no matter what equipment you have in your home.

  • 2. Do you offer both repair and replacement services?

Yes. Our experienced technicians are trained to provide accurate system diagnostics and will always attempt to repair your system first if it’s cost-effective and safe to do so. If replacement is the better option for long-term comfort and efficiency, we’ll explain your options clearly and help you choose the best system for your home and budget.

  • 3. Are your technicians licensed and certified?

Absolutely. Every technician at Andy’s Heating and Cooling is licensed, trained, and experienced in residential HVAC repair and installation. Our team operates under a master technician license, ensuring every job meets the highest standards of safety, precision, and professionalism.

  • 4. Do you service residential properties only?

No. We offer repair and replacement for HVAC in homes and small to mid-sized businesses.

  • 5. How do you protect my home during service?

We take a guest mentality approach with every appointment. Our technicians use protective mats, floor coverings, and safety gear to prevent dirt, scratches, or damage to your property. We respect your space and clean up completely before we leave, ensuring your home is just as tidy as when we arrived.

  • 6. What are the signs I might need HVAC repair?

If you notice uneven temperatures, weak airflow, strange noises, unusual odors, or a sudden spike in energy bills, your system likely needs attention. It’s best to schedule a professional inspection as soon as possible to avoid more serious damage or costly breakdowns.

  • 10. How much does HVAC repair cost in Omaha, NE?

HVAC repair costs in Omaha vary widely depending on the system type and the specific failure. Common AC repairs like capacitor or contactor replacements typically run $150 to $400. Furnace repairs such as ignitor replacement or flame sensor cleaning often fall in the $150 to $350 range. Larger repairs involving blower motors, control boards, or compressors can run $500 to $1,200 or more. Diagnostic visits are generally $79 to $129 and are often credited toward the repair cost. We'll always provide a written estimate after an on-site inspection before any work begins. Contact our team to schedule a diagnostic visit today.

  • 11. Do you offer same-day HVAC service in Omaha?

Yes. Andy's Heating and Cooling offers same-day service across Douglas County and Sarpy County based on technician availability. When you call (402) 402-2042, our team will work to schedule a same-day visit for urgent heating or cooling failures. Calling early in the day improves your chances of a same-day appointment. Our technicians arrive with fully stocked service vans so the majority of repairs can be completed in a single visit without a return trip for parts. Schedule your appointment online anytime.

  • 12. What's the difference between AC repair and AC replacement?

AC repair addresses a specific failed component such as a capacitor, a refrigerant leak, or a blower motor, while leaving the existing system in place. Replacement involves removing the entire system and installing a new one. Repair makes sense when the system is under 12 to 15 years old, the repair cost is reasonable relative to the system's remaining value, and the unit hasn't had repeated failures. Replacement makes more sense when the system is over 12 to 15 years old, repair costs are climbing, or the system is running R-22 refrigerant that's no longer manufactured. Our technicians will give you an honest recommendation either way. Learn more on our AC repair page or our residential AC installation page.

  • 13. Do you service ductless mini splits and heat pumps?

Yes. We service all three primary residential cooling and heating system types: central air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductless mini split systems. We handle repairs, refrigerant service, seasonal maintenance, and full replacements for each. For heat pumps, we service both the heating and cooling modes. For mini splits, we work with all major brands including single-zone and multi-zone systems. If you're not sure what type of system you have, our technicians can identify it during the diagnostic visit. Schedule your service and we'll take it from there.
